According to Variety, Blake’s lawyers are fighting back against the claim that Blake tried to extort Taylor into posting a public statement that supports Blake.
Their clap back comes after Justin’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, filed a statement with the court, saying, “Michael Gottlieb of Willkie Farr, counsel for the Lively Defendants, contacted a Venable attorney who represents Ms. Swift and demanded that Ms. Swift release a statement of support for Ms. Lively, intimating that, if Ms. Swift refused to do so, private text messages of a personal nature in Ms. Lively’s possession would be released.”
In simpler terms, Bryan says Blake’s lawyers tried to bully Taylor’s lawyers into forcing Taylor to release a statement in support of Blake by threatening to release Taylor’s private text messages. But Blake’s team claims the accusations are “categorically false.” Rumors of blackmail have turned this lawsuit into an even bigger hot mess than it already was.
