This week, rising star Honey Bxby dropped her latest EP Raw Honey. It features her biggest track so far, “LEFT EYE,” as well as guests spots from Coi Leray and Lola Brooke. At the center is a unique voice to match her vivid storytelling.
Originally from New Jersey, Honey Bxby started her music career with the single “Sweet Heat” in 2020. Over the last five years, she’s developed a sophisticated and adventurous brand of R&B. Her current surge started with the 2023 EP 3 Words, 8 Letters and the breakout single “Touchin.”
Before the release of Raw Honey, we talked to the artist about her career and latest music.
How does it feel to put Raw Honey out into the world? I’m so excited to share this project with the world! It’s a batch of new music, which makes me a little nervous! But filled with excitement.
The cover art is iconic. Whose idea was that, and what was that shoot like? The honey was one of Duane Martin’s ideas! It was a picture he sent over when we were putting all our ideas together. It was of someone with like liquid dripping on their face, and it was Fire! I was so iffy about actually doing it with the honey but the day of the shoot I was just like FUCK IT, let’s just do it.
Do you have a favorite new track you hope the fans will love too? Yes! “Laying in His Bed” is definitely my favorite track on the project; it’s a little different than the rest of the music I normally put out, but it’s definitely one of my favorites.

It’s been a couple years since we last talked to you (around the time of “Touchin.”) How has your music evolved since then?Man, it has grown so much, even down to the production. I did “Touchin’” in 2023, almost two years ago. I’m really finding my sound and still experimenting.
When did you realize you could have a career in music, that was more reality than dream? When I was a kid, I knew it was gonna be my reality, eventually. I was just dreaming until I was able to have it in front of me.
How much are you involved with writing and production? Very involved, I’m a writer myself, so I’m 1000% in the process.
I know you loved Hannah Montana growing up. Are you still a Disney fan? Yes! Not the new Disney though! But I do still very much watch my old faves and listen to the music.
If you have a couple of hours just to hang out and watch something on TV, what are you watching?Probably Vampire Diaries or Once Upon a Time. And of course my messy TV, my reality shows.
What artists have you been listening to lately? I’ve been vibing to Sailorr, PND, Drake, K Camp’s Kiss 5 album still, so much honestly I can’t even think!
What are your plans for the summer? To take it over, period.
