Bec Lauder and The Noise Share “Nobody Cares” Single + Video
Bec Lauder and The Noise today have shared their new single “Nobody Cares,” the latest track from their debut LP The Vessel, out August 22nd via Killphonic. Today’s release follows previous single “Give It,” which earned support from Chorus.fm, V13, and more. “‘Nobody Cares’ perfectly captures the chaos of indifference with a smirk on its face,” Lauder explains. “It’s a chocolate covered middle finger, attention stealing, blast at full volume summer banger. It’s the definition of glam punk with a touch of dream pop textures, lo-fi grit and honesty. Cry later, strut now.” Lauder has been covered in publications such as SPIN, Women Wears Daily, Alt Citizen, and more.
The Vessel was born in the East Village in New York City between a bunch of friends, bonding and surviving the city through music. Comprised of Maggie Bishop (drums/vocals), Soph Shreds (guitar/bass) and Lauder (vocals/guitar/bass), the band found their sound by playing over 75 shows in New York over the past year and through their recording process. This album is a love letter to the youth in this world, meant to provide a beautiful and fantastical escape from everyday chaos. It is a reaction to all of the human feelings that we have, the memories that replay in our heads and all of the artists that prove that music is freedom.
The Vessel is out August 22nd via Killphonic.
More about BEC LAUDER AND THE NOISE :
Bec Lauder and the Noise is a three-piece rock band born in the East Village of Manhattan. Frontwoman Bec Lauder alternates between guitar and bass while delivering sultry, siren-like vocals. She’s joined by lead guitarist Soph Shreds, whose dynamic and groove-driven guitar and bass lines add depth and intensity to the band’s sound. On drums is Maggie Bishop, the heartbeat of the group, known for her masterful blend of breakbeats and classic rock rhythms. Maggie also contributes powerful vocal harmonies that elevate Bec’s lead vocals.
The project began taking shape with Bec’s 2023 debut EP, Before Everything Changes — a reflective introduction to her evolving sound. Their upcoming album, The Vessel, set for release this August, promises to be a bold next chapter in their musical journey.
Lauder brings a breath of feminine energy to a scene that often overlooks it — but make no mistake: she’s got the grit and the chops to let the music speak louder than anything else.
The Vessel is eleven tracks of pure Lauder — psychedelic, sexy, and laced with electricity. One moment, it’s playful and funky; the next, it dives into something more sultry, aching, even cinematic. A love letter to the angst of ‘90s grunge and the soul of ‘70s classic rock, the album isn’t just a sonic evolution — it’s a statement. Where BEC laid the groundwork, The Vessel is the wild, blooming garden. The contrast was intentional — two distinct chapters of an artist charting her own course.
And the title? It’s more than metaphor.
“When I’m performing, I have to feel the music — that’s the only way I know how to transfer that energy to the crowd,” she explains. “If I don’t lose myself in the moment, it feels fake. I’m a vessel, and the only way this works is if I let the music take over. When I hit the stage, it’s full-body improv — no shame, no filter. Just pure instinct.”
And that’s what makes her unforgettable. Bec Lauder and the Noise aren’t just playing rock and roll — they’re channeling it.
