EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW | LIVVIA's Valentine's Day contest

She is back with her new single, "Catch A Body" and "Ladies Take The Lead" gives you a chance to win

Love is in the air and LIVVIA is back with new music.

A few weeks ago, she released her single "Catch A Body" featuring Quavo from Migos. You might remember LIVVIA from her earlier career. In her teens, she toured with artists like Jessie J, Meghan Trainor, and The Jonas Brothers. LIVVIA's latest single shows a more grown up side to the rising star and is likely foreshadowing what we'll see on her upcoming EP.

This Valentine's Day, LIVVIA has paired up with Popdust to bring our readers a special Valentine's Day contest. Here are the rules:

1. Click on the link at the bottom of the page.

THE INTERVIEW

Popdust: What did you listen to growing up?

LIVVIA: "Quite a variety, but definitely a lot of Coldplay — especially the Parachutes album."P: When did you start writing music?

LIVVIA: "I've always been interested in what goes into the creation of a pop song, but I really started writing my own songs at 13." P: How did you end up working with Quavo?

LIVVIA: "My producers, Rock Mafia, sent the song ['Catch A Body'] to Quavo's team and he heard it and loved it and wanted to be a part of it!"

Popdust: What was the collaboration like?

LIVVIA: "The first time I heard his feature through the speakers I thought, 'this is amazing.' He totally bodied the song."

Popdust: What was "Catch A Body" inspired by?

LIVVIA: "Uncontrollable and sometimes destructive attraction. It plays on phrases like 'if looks could kill' and 'you look so good it's killing me' to twist the meaning of 'Catch A Body'."

Popdust: What's your favorite Valentine's Day memory?

LIVVIA: "Is it bad that I can't think of one?"

Popdust: What are you doing for Valentine's Day this year?

LIVVIA: "Working! I'm supposed to be in two places at once that day — studying for a midterm and participating in a songwriting camp — wish me luck..."

Popdust: What's next for you?

LIVVIA: "I can't wait for you to see the video for 'Catch A Body' — It was so much fun to film. When I wrote the song I envisioned a video in the style of an action movie like James Bond or John Wick, and bringing that idea to life was so fulfilling. I got a lot of bruises in the process though! I also have a lot of songs that I can't wait to share, but I can't reveal too much quite yet. There may be a collab or two in the works!"

"Catch A Body" is the perfect tune for Valentine's Day. It's empowering, sexy, and captures the feeling of that first attraction when you meet someone you're into. LIVVIA tells us that kind of attraction is exactly what inspired the song. "Uncontrollable and sometimes destructive attraction. It plays on phrases like 'if looks could kill' and 'you look so good it's killing me' to twist the meaning of 'Catch A Body," she told us.

The song is about taking the lead and going after what you want. LIVVIA's Valentine's Day contest reflects that. She thinks that ladies should be able to take the driver's seat in their love lives and is giving you the chance to win a $100 prize to take your crush or special someone on a Valentine's Day date. Although LIVVIA is playing cupid for Popdust readers this Valentine's Day, she admits that it's not a memorable holiday for her.

"Is it bad that I can't think of [a Valentine's Day memory]?" she says. I don't think so! LIVVIA is an awesome reminder that sometimes the best thing to do on Valentine's Day is something special for yourself. This year she says she'll be studying for a midterm and participating in a songwriting camp on Valentine's Day.

LIVVIA told us that you can expect a music video for "Catch A Body" coming soon. She said, "When I wrote the song I envisioned a video in the style of an action movie like James Bond or John Wick, and bringing that idea to life was so fulfilling." She mentioned she also has a bunch more songs to share and hints that we may see some more collaborations soon.
