The Unofficial FAQ: The Mirror By Lululemon

man working out with the mirror

The age old workout question; go to a gym or stay home? Going to the gym means extra commuting time, fees even when you can't make it, and dealing with the public at their sweatiest. Meanwhile at home...sometimes the lack of structure means it's just not happening.

Our editors looked into at-home solutions and were surprised to find one that also doubles as elegant home decor: The Mirror by Lululemon. The full-length mirror allows you to view your body as you take their amazing roster of classes and workouts.

We're sure you have questions, so here's everything you need to know.

What is The Mirror?

When not in use, The Mirror is a sleek 53x21 inch mirror that can lean against or be mounted on a wall. When in use, it's an interactive personalized home gym. You'll be able to make up to 6 accounts and browse their 50+ genres of workouts.

What kinds of classes do they have?

They have everything! Boxing, Tai Chi, Barre, Bootcamp, Strength Training, Arms + Legs and other targeted workouts, Yoga, Cardio, Latin Dance, and so much more.

Is it suitable for all fitness levels?

Absolutely! There are all kinds of classes and The Mirror uses advanced tracking tech to get to know your body and provide tailored feedback and insights on how you're doing. You can also watch yourself and adjust your form, or perform modified versions of different moves.

Is it difficult to install?

Professional installation is included with your purchase of The Mirror! All you need to do is pick your workout area, which should have an 8 square foot block for best results.

I couldn’t believe it, and thought about my day-to-day schedule. I’m already working long hours since my recent promotion. Some weeks I’m in the office at the crack of dawn or I’m one of the last to leave at night. Even when I’m able to work from home, it feels like I’m chained to my desk. In just the past two weeks, I’ve already missed three days of my usual morning yoga classes.

How much does it cost?

The Mirror's pricing begins at $1,495, but there are some big sales you should keep an eye out for $300 off. :)

The additional $39.95 Membership fee gives you access to tens of thousands of classes both live and on-demand.

How is it different from a YouTube workout?

You can incorporate real biometric data using an Apple Watch or heart rate monitor to keep track of your calories burned, as well as your workouts and your goals. Besides the tailored, interactive feedback, you've got trainers at the top of their respected fields, and the ability to compete against other accounts, Mirror users, and friends for that competitive edge. Also, the Mirror itself is really cool!

What are people saying?

In short, users love it. All the reviews are amazing, but this one's our favorite.

"I've never been one for a home workout until MIRROR came into my life. I cannot tell you how grateful I am as this thing has changed my life. I absolutely LOVE the interfacing. It's very cool to have a 3-D type teacher in the space and to see all of the people you are working out with alongside you. It feels like a community and it reminds me that I'm not alone in this journey. I love how you can customize your goals and that Mirror reminds you by checking off the days you take a class. At first I didn't think I could get into it because I can't get into a YouTube workout so why would this be any different? It's night & day!!!! Mirror is so engaging, the [visuals are] gorgeous, and it makes me want to show up for myself. THANK YOU THANK YOU Lululemon. I'm in love with Mirror." - Kim from California
