From pop princess to small screen scene stealer, Mandy Moore is living proof that stars who start young can grow up without being cursed by the "child star syndrome." As a teen, fans fell in love with Moore's fresh pop sound, and now that she is starring on one of television's most highly-acclaimed programs, the New Hampshire native is experiencing a second round of success in Hollywood. Here's more on Moore…
Sweet as "Candy"
Adorable and innocent, Moore was a breath of fresh air in the pop world in the late-'90s. Over-sexualized teens and often-lewd lyrics were becoming the status quo, but Moore's more mom- and pop-friendly music and comparatively wholesome look was refreshing. Still, her sound and style was super popular with teens and she was a near-instant success. Opening for boy bands NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys brought Moore front and center, and with the rise of her single, "Candy," Moore was topping the charts. She recorded six albums over her career and still dabbles in music, even singing on her TV show, This Is Us.
This Is Mandy
This Is Us is one of the top-rated shows on television. The unique premise and plot and stellar cast makes the drama a must-see each week. Moore plays Rebecca Pearson to perfection, changing her appearance as the character jumps to and from different decades. Her on-screen chemistry with the rest of the cast is magical and Moore has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her work on the show. With the wild success This Is Us is experiencing, we can expect many more seasons to come. Binge-watching was never so addictive.
Moore has had her fair share of roles on the big screen too. Her good looks and talent make her a made-for-the-movies celeb and her personality and passion are always on point. Some of her notable films include A Walk to Remember, Tangled, and Because I Said So.

The Cocteau Twins' 1990 masterpiece is still the blueprint for dream pop.
For a band whose lyrics were famously difficult to make out most of the time, the Cocteau Twins left an indelible impact on the world of pop music.
The Scottish trio emerged in the 1980s as some of the most notable pioneers of dream pop, a subgenre of alternative rock defined by airy, sublime sonic textures. But it was their sixth album, Heaven or Las Vegas—which turns 30 today—that truly withstood the test of time, affirming the Cocteau Twins' status as perhaps the most important dream pop act of all time.
Now that Banksy's "Flower Thrower" trademark has been revoked, anyone can profit off his work.
This week anonymous street artist Banksy officially lost the European trademark to his "Flower Thrower" mural.
The guerrilla graffiti artist had engaged in a prolonged legal battle with the small greeting card company Full Colour Black—which was selling products featuring the image of a Palestinian man throwing a bouquet of flowers. But now a panel at the European Union Intellectual Property Office has announced their decision to revoke the artist's trademark on the grounds that he could not definitively prove himself to be the mural's creator.
